Designed to meet the needs of both beginner and advanced Aikidoka, this lightweight Aikidogi features a longer jacket and slightly shorter sleeves, crafted with precision by our expert team.
This model is the result of a close collaboration between Seido—the only Aikido equipment brand run by Aikidoka—and KuSakura, Japan’s most experienced and skilled Dogi manufacturer. KuSakura, the inventor of the modern Judogi, uniquely controls its entire production chain, from weaving to final quality inspection.
Our goal was to deliver a lightweight, durable gi built to withstand intense training, fully made in Japan, yet still accessible at an affordable price. We also needed a guaranteed fast production turnaround without compromising on premium finishing. There was only one way to achieve this: deepen our partnership and work hand-in-hand with KuSakura to create the best product on the market in terms of cost and performance.
To keep this Aikido jacket as light as possible, we selected one of KuSakura’s traditional fabrics called "Kosashiko." This material resembles classic rice grain weave but with finer, smaller grains, making it incredibly soft and comfortable to wear, while retaining the toughness typical of "Sashiko" style fabric.
For optimal comfort and a sleek look, we used the same "Kosashiko" fabric for the collar. And to maximize softness and ease of movement, we removed the chest reinforcement.
The sizing is designed to fit nearly every body type. The weight range shown in the size selection corresponds to the ideal recommended weight for that size. For example, size 4 (165 ~ 175 cm | 55 ~ 70 kg) means practitioners who are 165 cm tall and around 55–60 kg or those who are 175 cm tall and around 65–70 kg will get a perfect fit.
If you are slimmer than the recommended size, we suggest sizing down half a size.
For taller practitioners, the size provides an acceptable fit up to +10 kg (for instance, 170 cm and 80 kg).
The pants included with this set are the KS100 model. Unlike our other pants, this Aikido pant doesn’t feature double-layered knees, making it less durable—especially for Suwariwaza practice. Extremely lightweight and comfortable, it’s perfect for Aikidoka seeking minimal, breathable gear.
Despite its affordable price, this model is 100% made in Japan.
